Movin' and Groovin'

C’mon and let me see you shake your tail feather…!

The Second Sunday Sock Hop is a local dance party that swings the room every second Sunday of each month, and it’s just about reached it’s fifth year. Classic R&B, soul and garage rock are the specialties of the evening, primarily from the ’50s and ’60s. The fabulous SSSH DJ’s (Tim Murphy, Gabe Vaughn and Wes Borghesi) really know and love the stuff they’re spinning, so it always turns into a huge party taking over the dance floor.

It’s time for another sock hop this weekend, and Tim Murphy stopped by the KUT studios to chat with Laurie Gallardo about how it all began.

Make plans to check out the Second Sunday Sock Hop this Sunday at 9 p.m. at the Shangri-La, 1016 E. 6th St. Remember to dress to impress with your best vintage duds.
