Austin classical band Revel was founded by pianist Carla McElhany and cellist Joel Becktell with the goal of growing the audience of classical music. At their shows they encourage listeners to clap along and even dance if moved to do so by the music. Essentially, Revel aims to make people see classical music the way they do: fun. Revel’s final performances of their 2010-2011 Growing Season are this weekend (info here) and you can learn more by listening to Revel’s performance in Studio 1a with host John Aielli.
