Mexican drug cartels continue their war over lucrative trafficking routes south of the border while a substantial amount of money continues to flow in from the north. Most of the money reaches Mexico, but millions are seized by U.S. law enforcement before reaching their final destination. UT Safety Alert System Put to the Test
University of Texas police issued a campus-wide safety alert late Monday afternoon, after people reported seeing a man carrying what looked like two shotguns near the Rec Sports Building on San Jacinto Blvd. The weapons turned out to be replicas. Monday was the first time authorities had to put their campus warning system to a real test since September, when a student brought an AK-47 to campus and ultimately took his own life.
