Williamson County Officer Involved Shooting

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an officer involved shooting. The incident happened at about midnight in Hutto. We have more details on the podcast.

Civil Rights Project Looking into State Security Breach

The Texas Attorney General and the FBI are already investigating the release of personal information by the Texas Comptroller’s Office. Now an outside group, the Texas Civil Rights Project, wants to start its own investigation. For KUT News and the Texas Tribune, Ben Philpott has the story.

How Effective are the Whooping Cough Vaccines?

Last year, Travis County reported about 900 cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough.  A majority of people who got the cough said they had been vaccinated against it.  Whooping cough can be fatal for babies.  In the second of two reports, KUT’s Crystal Chavez asks the experts about the bacterium that causes whooping cough — Bordatella Pertussis.
