Monitoring Hot Spots in Oak Hill

The Austin Fire Department says eight firefighters remain in Oak Hill looking out for any hot spots from Sunday’s 100-acre blaze.  Firefighters worked overnight and officials say the fire was around 90 percent contained as of Tuesday morning.

Wildfires Still Blazing Across Texas

Firefighters have been working to contain wildfires all across the state.  As they make headway on some, new ones keep cropping up.  Monday the Texas Forest Service responded to eight new fires.  Listen to today’s newspod for more updates on the Texas wildfires.

APD To Do Outdoor Fire Education

A man authorities believe was homeless was charged with starting a campfire that sparked the Oak Hill fire. Austin police say they’re going to be stricter about enforcing outdoor burn bans.  For KUT News and ReportingTexas.com, Mario Carrillo has the story.
