Austin based singer-songwriter David Ramirez writes songs about the life he leads, and apparently his life is gritty, road weary and lonely. Ramirez’s specific style of folk-pop features his honest, heartfelt lyrics over a backdrop of sparse yet powerful musical accompaniment. He has been writing and performing for the past 10 years, releasing several EPs and a full-length album and playing shows across the country. David Ramirez’s recently finished the last show of his month-long residency at the Cactus Cafe but you can still hear Ramirez play a few of his songs from his Studio 1a performance with Jay Trachtenberg.
