April 15, 2011 – This Week In Membership
There are a few times a year when we are able to take deep breaths in the Membership Department at KUT. This week has been one of the weeks where we’ve been pleasantly busy – but not swamped.
Kayla and I have been working on Matching Gifts quite a bit this past week. I have been making sure people’s records are correct who give through their company’s payroll deductions. Kayla has been taking matching gift forms, entering them into the database and then giving those forms to the gift processing department at The University of Texas. Since we are a part of UT, they process all of our matching gifts. It would be too cumbersome to have each department at UT going to organizations so the process is streamlined through UT.
If you do work for a matching company, make sure you go to your organization’s HR Department and ask for the matching gift form. Fill it out – send it to KUT. We will verify we received your gift. UT will take the necessary steps to secure the matching gift from your employer.
Kim has been working on a lot of volunteer and event projects. KUT is hosting a concert – it was a thank you gift during the membership drive – so she has been securing volunteers and organizing refreshments.
Things slow for us a bit in January and after the spring membership drive. The fall membership drive begins Sept. 27 so we’ll start planning for it soon.
Have a great one!
