AISD Superintendent Meria Carstarphen Talks To KUT

The Austin Independent School District is projecting a budget shortfall of $94.4 million dollars for the next school year. AISD has eliminated 1,153 jobs, but is still only half way to closing the budget gap.  KUT’s Nathan Bernier spoke about the school district’s finances with Austin ISD Superintendent Meria Carstarphen.  You can listen to their half-hour long interview by clicking the player above.
