This is another band to keep your eye on. I even had Texas Music Matters host and producer David Brown asking, “Hey – who IS that?!” Great for spontaneous jamming in the office.

Austin quartet The Bubbles began as a recording project by lead vocalist and guitarist William Glosup in 2007. From that project, they formed the line-up they have today: Glossup, guitarist and vocalist Chris Balcom, bassist Will Yonley, and drummer Casey Seymour. They make incredible, full-blown technicolor psych powerpop, with a tone reminiscent of The Nerves, The Beach Boys, The Kinks…just a touch of Buddy Holly. Very happy, summery, vivacious and great live.

You can see The Bubbles at their show Tuesday night at Emo’s, 603 Red River. It’s a fab bill that includes performances by The Baker Family, Chapel Hill, NC band I Was Totally Destroying It (featuring memebers of Sorry About Dresden), and Legs Against Arms. Doors open at 9 p.m. Highly recommended.
