What happens when we lose the night? That’s the question asked in the new film “The City Dark” which premiered at South by Southwest this year. The documentary explores the disappearance of darkness and people’s connection with the stars, at a time when it’s become more and more difficult to escape electric light.

The film’s director, Ian Cheney, joined us recently, and says the whole thing started when he heard a statistic, that for the first time, more people are living in cities, than in the country.

Ian Cheney directed the new documentary “The City Dark”. There’s one more chance to catch it at SXSW this week – Friday March 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the Alamo South Lamar.
