After two and a half decades, the implosion of the music industry as we knew it, and the rise of a 24/7 hype machine affectionately known as the Internet…it is reasonable to wonder: why do thousands of bands still schlep their gear halfway across the world to cram in half-a-dozen 40 minute sets over 4 days in Austin each March?  Does SXSW Music Still make sense?  For KUT’s Texas Music Matters, David Brown reports.
