SXSW 2011 Edition: From the Mind of Adi Showcase Tonight at Red 7

It’s begun. Had your mini-panic attack yet?
Perhaps not, but there’s no denying that there’s a whirlwind of activity once the madness known as South By Southwest kicks in – film, interactive, and of course, so much music from so many parts of the world that your brain explodes. And it really should be no surprise that, although Wednesday is the official start of the music portion, there are plenty of great shows to take in before then to get you warmed up for the oncoming non-stop showcase action.
So I, your humble Austin Music Minute maven Laurie Gallardo, am pleased to share with you some fabulous showcase recommendations throughout the week, both official SXSW shows and those must-see off-the-beaten-path gigs.
This week, we begin with a showcase presented by From the Mind of Adi (spearheaded by my friend and colleague Adi Anand) and BreakThru Radio, happening tonight at Red 7, 611 E. 7th St. This one features five talented local bands to blow you away on Red 7′s outside stage:
9 pm Mist Giant
10 pm Gabe Hascall
11 pm Hard Proof Afrobeat
12 am TV Torso
1 am Ringo Deathstarr
