Austin’s own Moonlight Towers is set to release their third full-length album, Day Is The New Night, on April 12. In lieu of the new long-player, the foursome will be playing their, as described by Chicago Reader, “perfectly molded power-pop” at a SXSW stage near you.
The band’s mission with this record? “We just want to make people dance,” is how lead singer, main songwriter and guitarist James Stevens puts it. For some, that might just be reason enough to pack up and make a dance space center stage at one of the upcoming shows. For others, it might be the raw rock ‘n’ roll accompanied by swirling strings and punchy horns that draws them out. Whatever it is that draws you to the sounds of Moonlight Towers, we figured one couldn’t go wrong with the new single from Day Is The New Night .
Today’s Song of the Day is Heat Lightning.
