Deadly Earthquake, Tsunami Hit Japan
On today’s Morning Newspod, we report on the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan’s eastern coast Friday. Hundreds of people were killed. Homes, boats and cars were swept away. Central Texans with ties to Japan checked in with friends and family early this morning to make sure they were ok.
Tea Party Influence on Legislative Session
Tea Party candidates in Texas didn’t win every race they entered in 2010…but the state’s Republican wins were boosted by those grass roots activists. Now as lawmakers try to cut an estimated $27-billion from the budget, the Tea Party is influencing the debate. Hear the details from KUT and the Texas Tribune’s Ben Philpott on today’s podcast.
