Hailing from Boston, Mass, David Wax Museum, dynamically blends Americana and Mexican folk with a tinge of country and just the perfect amount of rock in their most recent long-player, Everything Is Saved.

Today’s Song of the Day, Born with a Broken Heart, leads you into a weary world, but quickly squeezes you out of a lonely country existence with their lively accordion bellows and danceable traditional Mexican percussion. With every holler from the donkey jawbone (yes, they play a donkey jawbone), you begin to understand why this is a band garnering buzz at this year’s SXSW.

The group will be taking their infectious sounds to Momo’s for the official SXSW showcase presented by PRI’s The World. You should also check out NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
