2011 Roaries Music Awards Tonight at The Ghost Room
This is the second year that one of Austin’s most hip and in-the-know blogs Republic of Austin is presenting the Roaries Music Awards, a competition honoring some of the best local musicians, as determined by the fans.
RoA founder and writer Chris Apollo Lynn put the questions out there: Who’s your favorite Austin musician? Band? DJ? Special event? Floods of nominations came in, and the highest-ranking were placed in their respective categories. Voting, by the way, ends at 5 p.m. today, so there’s still some time left to cast your ballot for your personal faves.
The 2011 Roaries Music Awards will be presented tonight at 7 p.m. at The Ghost Room, 304 W. 4th St. The show includes live performances by The Black and White Years, STEREO IS A LIE, One Hundred Flowers, Tje Austin, Christeene, Tara Craig, BK and Mr. E, and Jonathan Terrell. I, your Austin Music Minute hostess with the mostess Laurie Gallardo, am pleased to announce that I’ll be one of the award presenters, alongside Adi Anand (From the Mind of Adi), Ian Morales (Red River Noise), Tolly Moseley (Austin Eavesdropper), Tyler Groover (Two Groove), Richard Gonzalez (Ultra8201) and Lynn.
This one’s gonna rock. Check it out. Recommended!
