As KUT previously reported, Pease Park Disc Golf will close. The City now says the end will come this December.

The Parks and Recreation Department says Pease Park is in desperate need of repair. There is significant erosion on the banks of Shoal Creek, which runs right through it. Soil is so compacted in some parts of the park that plants can’t grow.

The department will be working on plans for a renovated park, and a new disc golf course on parkland adjacent to Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Park. Meantime, check out this website for other places to play.

There is public meeting scheduled on Monday evening, November 29, at 6:00 pm at the Ruiz Library on Grove Boulevard.

The City is also accepting comments at coloradoriverpark@ci.austin.tx.us.
