Austin’s code enforcers are still asking the community for input on the development of a draft rental registration program to present to City Council.

City Engagement Consultant Larry Schooler says previous input from neighborhood groups, property owners, citizens, neighbors and other stakeholders has gotten code compliance officers and Austin police to consider a new way of dealing with rental properties.

In a previous conversation with Schooler, he spoke about the initial effort to engage residents on rental property maintenance.

New hearings are scheduled on Monday, October 25th. Noon – 1:00 p.m. and again from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at 1520 Rutherford Lane on the first floor.
