Transportation Bond Rolling Toward November

So far, opposition hasn’t gelled around the $90 million bond that city officials want Austinites to pass in November.
Mayor Lee Leffingwell told KUT’s Mose Buchele that the bond, while taking on new debt, won’t raise taxes. So he’s confident the plan for more bike lanes, sidewalks and road construction will pass. Though he admits more than half of the bond is aimed at areas in the city’s urban core.
