It is a hot debate: How much to invest in renewable energy? Can it be stored for times when energy availability may be intermittent?

Austin environmental activist Paul Robbins says not to worry on both accounts. He says new technologies allow energy from renewables to be stored. Robbins says even the grid itself can act as storage.

Robbins is the editor of the Austin Environmental Directory. He is hoping the idea of a “zero energy suburb” will catch on – an energy neutral existence using existing technologies to cut down on energy usage.
