Danny Malone Live – July 28, 2010

July 29, 2010 5:45 pm by: KUT Staff

July 29 has been declared Danny Malone Day in Austin by the authority of Mayor Leffingwell. The prolific local songwriter, who released last year’s acclaimed Cuddlebug, address City Hall at 5 PM, form a parade starting at Shangri-La at 7 PM, and lead that parade en route to perform inside at Stubb’s at 7:30 PM. Not a typical evening for a performer, but Malone is far from typical. His imaginative live shows boast mixed-media, ballet dancers, as well as his trademark heartfelt songwriting. He’ll soon release Verses, a split EP with James Levy on Township Records.

Danny Malone will celebrate the official pre-vinyl release for his upcoming 6-song split EP with James Levy at Stubb’s Inside Stage on Thursday. Malone stopped by KUT for a set in Studio 1A with Jay Trachtenberg.
