Elizabeth McQueen’s singing has been equated to hearing “Etta James and Loretta Lynn spliced in honey.” During her 10 year residence in Austin, McQueen has distinguished herself as a true musical force, releasing to solo records, “The Fresh Up Club” and “Happy Doing What We’re Doing” and joining the legendary western swing band Asleep At The Wheel as their female vocalist. Most recently she played a duet with Willie Nelson on Asleep At The Wheel’s Grammy-nominated CD “Willie and the Wheel.” Elizabeth’s latest effort has her exploring the more jazz and swing influenced sides of roots music. McQueen performed in Studio 1A during Music with Matt Reilly.
