Band of Heathens Live-May 19, 2010

The formation of The Band of Heathens is as natural and organic as the music they create. In early spring 2006, the three principle songwriters, Colin Brooks, Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist, were sharing the bill every Wednesday night at the venerable Austin club Momo’s. A misprint in a local paper billed the act as “The Heathens.” The moniker stuck and soon The Band of Heathens began to cultivate a loyal and growing legion of fans. They’ve been getting extremely positive reviews for their latest album “One Foot In The Ether.” In fact, the band was just nominated in the Americana Honors & Awards category of “Best Duo or Group.” It is the band’s second nomination for the Honors & Awards. The first was last year’s nomination for “Best Emerging Duo or Group.” Band of Heathens played in Studio 1A during Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
