KUT Radio WinFour Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards

AUSTIN, Texas – April 12, 2010 – KUT News has won four regional Edward R. Murrow awards, including an Overall Excellence award for the third consecutive year. The Edward R. Murrow awards recognize excellence in electronic journalism from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).

The awards were in the Region 6 (Oklahoma, Texas) large market radio category for the following projects completed in 2009:

Audio Feature Reporting: Mike Cahill Fort Hood RemembranceUse of Sound: Big Ideas/Ray Benson

Writing: Texas Topics Writing Samples

A complete list of winners, and the accompanying audio and video, is available at RTDNA.org Regional winners automatically become eligible for the national awards competition, which will be judged in early June. The national Edward R. Murrow Awards will be presented on Oct. 11 at the RTDNA Awards Dinner in New York.
