Arts Eclectic: The Intergalactic Nemesis

Almost fifteen years ago, Jason Neulander began work on a little something called The Intergalactic Nemesis. At the time, it was live, radio serial-style show performed at a coffee shop. As the years went on, the show got bigger (though it always retained its intimate cast of three actors, one musician, and a sound effects artist), added a couple of sequels, and went on the road.
More recently, it’s gained new life as a comic book series, written by Neulander with artwork by Tim Doyle. And soon, it’ll combine all those elements, and take its largest stage yet—the 2,400-seat Dell Hall at the Long Center. That feature length production will feature the comic artwork projected on the Long Center’s giant movie screen, while the talent performs the show live.
That’ll happen Labor Day weekend, but before that, the crew is performing one chapter at a time before selected movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. This weekend, they’ll be presenting Chapter Three before the 7:00 p.m. screenings of “Iron Man 2” at the Drafthouse South Lamar.
