SXSW 2010 Artist – Video: T-Bird & the Breaks in Studio 1a

In the past few years neo-soul has become as much a part of the Austin sound as indie rock or alt-country. The growing popularity of this genre is due primarily to the emergence of several young musicians like Black Joe Lewis, Dan Dyer, and Suzanna Choffel who share a common interest for vintage soul music. At the forefront of this new/old sound is T-Bird and the Breaks. Lead by shouter Tim Crane, the Breaks roll and bubble with the same intensity of legendary backing bands like the MGs or The Funk Brothers. T-Bird and the Breaks SXSW Showcase gets rolling 1pm Saturday March 20th at opal Divine’s Freehouse on W. 6th. Massively funky and always fun this is definitely one act you will want to hear live. Tim Crane and gang recorded a session in KUT’s Studio 1a last year and our cameras were there. Check it!
Want some funky goodness courtesy of T-Bird and the Breaks but don’t have a badge or a writsband? Well you are in luck, there are several opportunities next week to see T-Bird and the Breaks.
