Tegan & Sara live – March 1, 2010

March 4, 2010 10:04 am by: KUT Staff

Tegan and Sara hit a turning point in 2007 with their album, The Con. The Canadian indie duo (sisters Tegan and Sara Quin) moved toward a darker and decidedly more mature side of their songwriting. The mood became sharper and edgier. They continue on the same path with their recent release Sainthood (2009). Most of the songs clock in at under three minutes, but each track is a superbly crafted pop gem. This is some of the best writing to come from the sisters Quin, with lyrics that convey a maturity reaching beyond typical brooding lamentations about love and relationships. Hear them perform live in KUT’s Studio 1A Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. during Music With Jay Trachtenberg.
