The Carolina Chocolate Drops

The South Carolina Piedmont is known for it rich soil, fierce individualism, and maybe most notably it’s bluegrass music. Evolving out of traditional folk songs from the European immigrants that first settled the Piedmont, bluegrass has become one of the region’s and America’s most iconic sounds. Despite it’s continued presence bluegrass remains, for the most part, a traditional form of music. That’s why people pay attention when a trio of black musicians from South Carolina pick up the banjos, fiddles, and mouth harps. Any when they play those instruments you better have on your dancing shoes cause there ain’t no stopping your feet once they’ve been touched by the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Just ask all the boot kickers at the Hilton this morning. Enjoy the Carolina Chocolate Drops at the Austin Hilton.
