One of the best showcases I've ever seen at SXSW was this year's 2010 BMI Benefit Showcase for Girls Rock Camp in Austin. On March 17, 2010 at Submerged on 333 E. 2nd St, a packed crowd enthusiastically greeted the following all girl/female lead lineup for a rollicking good time:

One of the best showcases I’ve ever seen at SXSW was this year’s 2010 BMI Benefit Showcase for Girls Rock Camp in Austin. On March 17, 2010 at Submerged on 333 E. 2nd St, a packed crowd enthusiastically greeted the following all girl/female lead lineup for a rollicking good time:

8 p.m Kitten (LA)

9 p.m. Cocktail Slippers (Norway)

10 p.m. Ume (Austin, TX)

11 p.m. Beaches (Australia)

12 a.m. The Coathangers (Atlanta)

1 a.m. Those Darlins (Murfreesboro, TN)

Peter Babb and I were there to document the showcase produced as a benefit show for the non-profit that empowers girls and women through musical performance. We’ve got interviews with the bands and a special interactive feature coming up soon but wanted to share a few photos from the showcase.
