Colin Gilmore Live – March 13, 2010

March 23, 2010 3:45 pm by: KUT Staff

Austin singer-songwriter Colin Gilmore is building his reputation the old-fashioned way: hard work and imagination. Gilmore’s self-described blend of “West Texas-style rock, with a country/punk/psychedelic/pop edge is earning him a fan base – and airplay – nationally. He was influenced by family friends Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, and bands such as the Clash, the Ramones, and the Sex Pistols. Somewhere along the way, he also discovered Lucinda Williams, Johnny Cash, and Leonard Cohen. Gilmore’s newest album, “Goodnight Lane”, should be out in the early half of this year, and The Flatlanders are set to include his song “The Way We Are” on their next album.
