Austin’s Richochet Labs has just premiered its new head-to-head trivia game, Qrank. The first iteration of the game is an iphone app, but it’ll soon be available for other devices and also in a facebook version. According to Richochet’s CEO, Rodney Gibbs, (who is, among other things, a board member of the International Game Developers Association, the Austin Film Society, and KUT, says that Qrank will let you play daily against your friends, to “see how smart or how dumb they are.”

The game designers were inspired by vintage rock poster art for the look of the game, and asked composer Noel Gabriel to go for a musical sound that was akin to hearing the Jeopardy! theme at a Ghostland Observatory show.
