You never really know what you’re going to get at FronteraFest. For seventeen years, the fringe theater festival has been a venue for anyone who wants to try their luck on the stage. Theater veterans can try out new material, new artists can take the stage for the first time, or performers can experiment with material that might not find a home anywhere else.

FronteraFest is a co-production of Hyde Park Theatre and Austin Sciptworks, and spans five weeks and multiple venues.
The Short Fringe happens nightly at Hyde Park Theatre, and includes four or five pieces that run 25 or fewer minutes. Saturday nights at Hyde Park feature “Best of the Week,” which will include highlights from that week’s Short Fringe showcases.
The Long Fringe runs from January 18 – 31 and features shows that run no more than 90 minutes.
There are also “Bring Your Own Venue” and “Mi Casa Es Su Teatro” events throughout the fest; all told, there will be hundreds of performers in dozens of shows over the next several weeks. For full details on showtimes and venues, see hydeparktheatre.org
