October 7, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Austin native Suzanna Choffel captivates her audience with an unmistakable voice. You know it when you hear it. It’s those sultry, throaty tones that lure you into her song. She weaves a rich blend of pop and jazz with urban beats and diverse instrumentation. The smokey-voiced pop-soul-ster won the “Best Indie Band” prize at the Austin Music Awards in March 2009.

You can catch Choffel at her show at 8:30 p.m. tonight at Momo’s Club, 618 W. 6th St. Austin folk-rocker Matt McCloskey starts the evening at 7:15; Wendy Colonna performs at 9:45 p.m.; Deadman is on at 11 p.m.; and King Fisher plays after midnight.
