In the late nineties, struggling filmmaker Bob Ray gathered his friends together to make the movie Rock Opera. Part stoner comedy, part action thriller, and all low-budget, Rock Opera went on to become something of a cult hit, playing for three weeks at the then-new Alamo Drafthouse theater. Now, it’s back on screen at the Alamo south lamar for a tenth-anniversary celebration.
Following the screening, there will be an official after-party at the Highball, the new venue located next door to the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. The party will feature reunion shows from the bands Voltage and Pocket FishRmen.
Rock Opera is not rated, but it’s also not for kids. The Alamo’s kid policy for this screening is: 18 and up; Children 6 and up will be allowed only with a parent or guardian. No children under the age of 6 will be allowed.
Where: Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar
When: Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 p.m.
