Song of the Day

ACL ‘09 Artist- The Low Anthem: “Charlie Darwin”

October 6, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

Providence, Rhode Island’s, The Low Anthem fuses ominous folk with garage rock. The band consists of a trio of multi-instrumentalists. Their 2nd full length album, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, which showcases the band performing on 27 different instruments, was re-released after their recent signing with Nonesuch Records.

The Low Anthem performed at ACL Music Festival on Friday, October 2 at 12:20pm on the Austin Ventures stage.

Today’s song of the day, Charlie Darwin, carries a portentous tone. It’s almost as if you’re listening to this song in some sort of fog or snow storm…or come to think of it, a sort of mud producing rain shower!

listen. enjoy. repeat.
