ACL ‘09 Artist – Passion Pit: “Moth’s Wings”
It all began with a late Valentine’s Day present… Michael Angelekos recorded an EP as a gift for his girlfriend. The EP began to make the rounds, spreading by word of mouth, then became Chunk Of Change and was released by Frenchkiss Records. To call their rise meteoric is an understatement. The video for Sleepyhead, a track off the EP, was named one of the top 40 videos of 2008 by Pitchfork. Now Passion Pit has grown from the one-man band Michael Angelekos to include Ian Hultquist, Ayad Al Adhamy, Jeff Apruzzese and Nate Donmoyer. Their first full length album, Manners, came out in March of 2009 and contains today’s song of the day, Moth’s Wings. You can catch Passion Pit on Sunday from 5-6pm. -Meg Murphree
