Song of the Day

Lee Barber: “The Mosquito”

Lee Barber came to Austin from his native Louisiana in 1992, when his then-wife Elaine got the job as the harpist for the Austin Symphony. Lee and Elaine performed as The Barbers in the nineties, releasing a couple of critically lauded albums.

At 53, Lee Barber just released his debut solo album earlier this month called Thief and Rescue. And as part of the record’s release, Barber dropped by KUT to perform some tunes.

Today’s song of the day is a tune from that session. It’s called “The Mosquito.”
