Dave Madden and Wendy Colonna Perform Tonight at Zach Scott Theatre

September 25, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Every seat in the house will be a good seat at this show.

The Whisenhunt Stage at the Zach Scott Theatre is where Dave Madden and Wendy Colonna are having their show – a lovely, intimate affair that will have the perfect setting. The arrangement is octagon-shaped, allowing each performer, with the string quartet accompanying Madden and Colonna onstage, to be closer to the audience. There will be no additional amplification, only acoustic arrangements and vocals.

It’s a slightly different direction for both Madden and Colonna, songwriters who do use amps at shows, and tend to lean more toward roots, pop or soul music. Still, the original works they’ll perform will shine in such a cozy atmosphere, especially with added strings.

The show begins at 8 p.m. tonight at the Zach Scott Theatre, 1510 Toomey Rd. The string quartet includes members of Will Taylor’s Strings Attached. This one comes highly recommended.
