Chris Duarte Plays Tuesday Night at The Continental Club
Guitarist and San Antonio native Chris Duarte is now based in Atlanta, Georgia, but Austin is where he started his musical career when he was just a teenager. Austin is also where Duarte met best friend John Jordan, who cofounded the Chris Duarte Group with him. They played and toured together for 15 years before Jordan moved on to a solo career and to form Tana Records. Duarte played on – and is still on the move today.
Duarte does rock ‘n’ roll heavy on the guitar, inspired by blues, jazz and psychedelia. He lists Coltrane, Hendrix and B.B. King as some of his influences.
He’s returning to Austin for a show this Tuesday night at The Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress. Showtime is at 10 p.m. Make sure you’re ready to be rocked, friends. Duarte’s gonna turn it loose.
