Bobby Duncan Plays Tonight at the Saxon Pub

September 16, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Bobby Duncan is a relatively new name in the scene, but the young singer-songwriter has been gigging since 2005, when he released his first album, Lonesome Town. His second album, Faith, Hope and Everything Else, is a blend of several different influences that have all played a role in his evolution as a songwriter and vocalist.

Once again, Duncan enlisted the help of Texas songwriter Walt Wilkins for his latest release. Duncan admits it was an incredible growing experience for him as a musician, and a time to really focus on expanding his songwriting. “Your 20′s are about discovering who you are and who you want to be for the rest of your life,” he says. “At that point you don’t know much, but you think you do, and the pursuit to figure that out is a very strong emotion.”

You can see Duncan perform tonight at the Saxon Pub, 1320 S. Lamar. He’s got a slot around midnight, but make it a late night and check it out. Walt Wilkins will be joining him onstage. If you get there earlier, you can also catch performances by Monte Montgomery at 8 p.m. and Pauline Reese at 10 p.m.
