Choreographer Allison Orr is no stranger to large-scale dance productions, but her upcoming show will be her biggest undertaking yet. For The Trash Project, she’s worked with Austin’s Solid Waste Services Department to create a work of choreography for humans and equipment.
Twenty-five City of Austin employees and sixteen service vehicles will work together to create a unique dance event. Graham Reynolds has composed an original score for the piece, which incorporates recordings of heavy equipment. He’ll also be on hand to perform the music live, accompanied by other live musicians and the live sounds of the trucks themselves.
The Trash Project is a free event.
