Two Hoots and A Holler Play the Continental Club Tonight
Two Hoots and A Holler puts a little punk, rockabilly, rock ‘n’ roll and country twang in the mix. It’s a bit of everything that band founder and songwriter Rick Broussard holds close to his heart.
Broussard put the band together back in the 80s, making up his mind then and there that Two Hoots was not a one-trick pony. He’s cited influences like Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and The Cramps among his favorites, and all the Cajun music he heard in his youth. Two Hoots can swing with a honky-tonk flair one minute, then dive head-first into a solid rock ‘n’ roll shakedown the next without skipping a beat. It’s all in there. As Broussard himself once said, “I’m just a punk rocker in cowboy clothes.” Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, boy.
Two Hoots and A Holler take to the stage tonight at The Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress. Tonight’s show features a most esteemed guest, guitar master extraordinaire Johnny X Reed. Yeah, buddy, you can’t miss this one. Shake those Monday blahs and check it out.
