The Lost Pines Play Wednesday Night at Cactus Cafe
You could call it a mini-bluegrass fest of sorts. It’s not literally a festival, but it is without a doubt a bluegrass feast for the ears that’s happening this Wednesday night at the Cactus Cafe. The Lost Pines have the opening slot in a great double bill that features The Hays County Burn Band as the headliner.
The Lost Pines whips up a batch of the best that roots music has to offer: Bluegrass, traditional country and early American folk, with knock-out three-part vocal harmonies that are the absolute icing on the cake amidst guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo.
Also sporting some mean mandolin is The Hays County Burn Band, an Austin quintet that embraces the “good old-fashioned bluegrass music” of Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Flatt & Scruggs and The Stanley Brothers. Expect some killer solos from these guys, each of them being fantastic musicians.
The show begins at 8:30 p.m at the cafe, 2247 Guadalupe (24th & Guadalupe) in the Texas Union at UT. Get that bluegrass fix right here.
