The Black Angels Play the Bicycle Film Festival Tonight

August 5, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

The 9th annual Bicycle Film Festival is all about the bike, baby. From track bikes to that BMX you do killer jumps with, the festival supports them all, and, most importantly, the cycling lifestyle. In honor of all the two-wheel adventurers out there in cities across the country and throughout the world, BFF has assembled a great line-up of film, art and live music for the most seasoned cyclists and non-cyclists alike to enjoy.

The festival kicks off with some very great music indeed with Bikes Rock, tonight at La Zona Rosa, 612 W. 4th St. The event will begin with a heavy dose of rock by Tia Carrera, followed by those groovy purveyors of fuzzy psych The Black Angels.

The festival has all kinds of events and gatherings through the rest of the week, and wraps up Sunday with a BFF Polo Tournament, noon to 6 p.m., at Metz Park; film viewings at 501 Studios, E. 5th St. and Brushy, starting at 7 p.m.; and an afterparty at the Jackalope, 404 E. 6th St. Visit the BFF website for all the details.
