T-Bird and the Breaks Live – August 27, 2009

Austin’s own 10 piece funk/soul outfit T-Bird & The Breaks are young, but their music is rooted in vintage booty shakin’ tunes. Their live act is an infectious party that mixes soul standards with original compositions. They are fronted by Tim Crane, who has drawn comparisons to another great Texas band leader: Roy Head. They’ve got a gig at the Hot Sauce Festival August 30, in case you missed them live in Studio 1A Thursday at 2pm on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
