M. Ward Live – August 6, 2009

August 6, 2009 5:45 pm by: Jay Trachtenberg

M. Ward (the “M” stands for Matt) has carved out quite a niche for himself in the national music scene. Straddling the line between folk and indie rock, he’s an artist that is difficult to categorize. The Portland, Oregon resident has been a busy man lately; working with Zooey Deschanel as She and Him, and with Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and Jim James (My Morning Jacket) in the new super group Monsters of Folk. And this past year, he released his 7th album, Hold Time which features many guest performances including Jason Lytle and Lucinda Williams as well as an inspired Buddy Holly cover. Listen to M. Ward when he stopped by Music w/ Jay Trachtenberg.
