C3 has announced that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will replace the Beastie Boys at this year’s Lollapalooza, creating speculation that they might do the same for the ACL Festival.

LOCAL SHOWS:

Austin Music Award winner Vallejo performs tonight at Antone’s with Love At War opening – the show starts at 9 pm.

The Upper Echelon, Izzy Cox, Pitch Black Jungle, and Lost Knobs are at Beerland tonight – the show starts at 10 pm.

TODAY IN MUSIC HISTORY:

1963 – The Beatles’ first U.S. album, “Introducing The Beatles,” was released.

1968 – The Byrds’ “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” album was released.

1977 – Elvis Costello’s first album, “My Aim Is True,” was released in Britain. It was later released in the U.S.
