Song of the Day

John Vanderslice: “Sunken Union Boat”

July 13, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

John Vanderslice’s analog oriented indie-pop sound has become well known in the music world. He has contributed his all-analog studio in San Francisco to Spoon for their 2005 release Gimme Fiction, and to Okkervil River.

His newest album, Romanian Names, came out in May; and in June he stopped by Studio 1A to play a few songs from it.

Today’s song of the day is Sunken Union Boat from his recent release Romanian Names, as performed in Studio 1A.
