Known as “The Hardcore Troubadour”, Steve Earle has become an indelible figure in American music. Throughout the years, Earle has been an outspoken social activist and at one time was viewed as a savior of county music. These days, Steve is looking back on his years as the protege of another Texas legend, Townes Van Zandt. His new album Townes is a tribute to the man who helped shape his musical consciousness.
