Song of the Day

Son Volt: “Down To The Wire”

June 10, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

When Uncle Tupelo split in 1994, Jeff Tweedy started Wilco and Jay Farrar started Son Volt. While Wilco’s path has diverged from their Uncle Tupelo origins, Son Volt has stayed true to it’s alt-country roots – creating songs that make you want to take a drive down a Texas highway. Their newest album, American Central Dust, is set for a July 7 release date and is sure to please both old fans and new listeners alike.

Today’s song of the day is Down To The Wire from Son Volt’s American Central Dust. -Meg Murphree
